Reserve Management Plans  Printer Friendly

Council has adopted Management Plans for Bath Street Reserve (Trentham), Calembeen Park Reserve (Creswick), Hepburn Springs Mineral Reserve, Jubilee Lake Reserve and Lake Daylesford.

The Plans highlight the iconic nature of these reserves, their history and significance both locally and at a regional and state level.

The plans provide a framework for:

1. Sustainable management of the Reserves by:

  • Setting out clear principles for management including a clear process for dealing with maintenance concerns.

  • Providing for involvement of the community in management through advisory committees and as volunteers to assist in hands-on maintenance.

  • Improved weed control and appropriate plant species.

  • 2. Guiding built form and development at the Reserves including:

  • Identifying priorities for renewal and replacement of existing infrastructure (paths, other structures)

  • Opportunities for interpreting the heritage and history of the reserves - Aboriginal, European and Chinese.

  • An internal Reference Group of Council will be established to coordinate management resources and provide a strategic role in deciding on priorities
